Los Angeles based rock trio Crash Kings will be performing at The Griffin on Saturday, May 4. Crash Kings were formed in 2006, yet their self-titled debut album wasn’t released until 2009. The album found success driven by their single “Mountain Man” which reached Billboard’s Alternative Rock charts in the months following its release. Crash Kings have a sound reminiscent of Jack White, yet they implement enough unique distortion techniques to give themselves a sound of their own. Crash Kings will be performing alongside Chris Wilson and Planet Earth, and Dreamers Dose.

America’s most beloved indie duo Adam Green and Binki Shapiro will be returning to San Diego on Friday, May 3rd for their second appearance at The Griffin. Adam Green (from The Moldy Peaches) and Binki Shapiro (Little Joy) decided to collaborate after years of pursuing other interests, including solo albums and directing short films. They released their self-titled debut album in January of this year, and have been engaged on an international tour ever since. Their appearance at The Griffin will be their 2nd-to-last show before heading overseas, making this a must-see performance! New Orleans funk-quintet Dumpstaphunk will be playing at The Griffin on Sunday, April 7. Dumpstaphunk debuted a decade ago at the New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival as a side project for guitarist Ivan Neville. Since then, Dumpstaphunk have gained widespread recognition, with accolades from Rolling Stone stating “Dumpstaphunk has grown from a small side project into one of New Orleans’ most prestigious modern funk ensembles.” The 2013 release of Dirty Word has rekindled the embers of success from their previous recordings while breathing fresh air to their sound and style. Dumpstaphunk will be joined by TEN, a supergroup formed by Thomas Pridgen (Mars Volta), Eric McFadden (pFunk), and Norwood Fisher (Fishbone).
