Crash Kings were formed in 2006, yet their self-titled debut album wasn’t released until 2009. Crash Kings have a sound reminiscent of Jack White, yet they implement enough unique distortion techniques to give themselves a sound of their own. Dumpstaphunk debuted a decade ago at the New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival as a side project for guitarist Ivan Neville. Since then, Dumpstaphunk have gained widespread recognition, with accolades from Rolling Stone stating “Dumpstaphunk has grown from a small side project into one of New Orleans’ most prestigious modern funk ensembles.” The 2013 release of Dirty Word has rekindled the embers of success from their previous recordings while breathing fresh air to their sound and style. Dumpstaphunk will be joined by TEN, a supergroup formed by Thomas Pridgen (Mars Volta), Eric McFadden (pFunk), and Norwood Fisher (Fishbone).
